SAM THOMPSON

A final image I did after the month ended where I took my time to really see how my artwork and use of line had developed throughout the month. A self portrait with my favourite designs from the challenge around me.

Several different sized fine-liners on A4 cartridge paper.

Fine-liner, brushpen and Cool Grey Copic markers. I this design was simply a sketch and thus was not as refined as some of the others but overall not something I'm generally displeased by.
INKTOBER 2016
The Inktober challenge was something created by artist and illustrator Jake Parker in 2012 wherein he would create one ink drawing daily for every day in the month of October. Initially this was for himself but over time he then introduced it to the world, encouraging artists all over the globe of every skill level to take on this annual challenge. Since then it has become a global phenomenon and this year I decided to take on the challenge myself. I did this to push myself to start and maintain the positive drawing habits of drawing at least once every day and also allowing me to consistently practice my ink drawings and develop over the course of the month, allowing myself to see at the end how far I have come over the 31 day period. I found out about the challenge a little late so I missed the first 10 days and also some in between. However, in the end I did as much as I could and am very happy with the outcome.
